And banking on this industry depend plethora of people like catering, flowers, transport, mandaps and lots of other subsidary industries. And to co-ordinate all these subsidaries exist few people called, the Wedding Planners.
Yes, Band Baaja Baarat is a story of Wedding Planners who start from the scratch and hit big-time with their moves. This heartwarming tale of two youngsters who embark on a journey of their careers, from the suburbs of New Delhi, vowing to never fall in love inevitably fall in love and discover what wedding and love means to them. And when the tale ends, the viewers leave with a smile on their faces and fulfillment in their hearts. Congrats to the new Director Manish Sharma for giving a story that is rooted to the ground and never lets go of its soul without going over-the-top.
Sruthi Kakkar (Anushka Sharma) and Bittoo Sharma (Ranveer Singh) enter into a partnership and start Shaadi Mubarak, a Wedding Planning firm. They vow not to fall in love as business partners should not fall in love as it will spoil the business. They remain friends in their partnership and even the parents of Sruthi are happy to let their daughter sleep in the same bed with Bittoo. But their friendship (partnership) faces a test when they accidentally get intimate with each other after a great day in their career.
Bittoo becomes conscious of his vow and is wary of hurting Sruthi’s emotions and tries to avoid her. But Sruthi is fallen in love with Bittoo. She can’t understand why he behaves differently and when she gets to know of what Bittoo felt, she is angry and hurt. Soon a wedding later, the partnership is broken and the partners go separate. But in their inner hearts they love each other and they can’t survive without each other. When shall they realize that they are made for each other and Shaadi Mubarak would be complete with them being together. How will they unite forms the next part of the story.
Director Manish needs a big pat for showing the middle class in its full reality. The trusting and caring dad of Sruthi, the all-knowing mother of Sruthi complete the pieces of Sruthi’s life. And Sruthi is fully brought to life by Anushka Sharma. She is just apt and the doe eyed beauty does great in the role of Behenji equally well. And the debutant Ranveer Singh is the soul of this film. He carries his role with elan and never does anybody feel that this is his first film. He brings alive Bittoo with his act and when he says “biscoot” and “binnis” everyone is floored. Producer Aditya Chopra finally has something to cheer as this is sure to bring some moolah in.
Band Baaja Baarat is a great watch and shows to the nation about the evolution of Bollywood and also of the younger generation. Go for it.
