What a SPECIAL victory!

Words would not be sufficient to eulogise the victory which was achieved by India on the afternoon of October 5th at Mohali. The scenes of joy which erupted in the dressing room and the sense of anguish which came out on Ricky Ponting’s face, has established one common fact, i.e., Indian cricket team deserves to be the Number.1 in world cricket order.
Many a time, the credibility of the claim of India was questioned by former greats and also a few of the current cricketers, but today they were given a fitting reply by a lanky Hyderabadi who is a VERY VERY SPECIAL member of the GREAT community. That VVS Laxman helped India to achieve a near impossible victory hallmarked the character of the man and showed to the eternal doubters that this Indian team is resilient and will never say die.
What makes this victory even more special was that Laxman was handicapped with a back spasm and was playing with a runner by his side in the form of Suresh Raina. Added to that he had none of the top-order batsmen in his company and when all of the reputed lot left, India still needed around 92 runs to seal a victory. That Laxman achieved the victory by making the likes of Ishant Sharma and Pragyan Ojha believe in themselves is a great achievement and this innings of Laxman would rank next to his legendary 281 (once again against the Aussies).
India has showed a lot of character in the test match and the second match would be looked at in anticipation. What a shame that this is just a two-match series.
