Whether anyone agrees or disagrees, I give out a statement to say that our distinguished Members of Parliament are a greedy lot. If not, then how would one call of their demand for five fold increase in their pay if not a greedy one?
The public representatives of the present times seem to have forgotten that they are in the public life for public service and instead they are doing self-service in the name of public. True, public life calls for lot of expenses and also takes a lot out of the person, but it is an option they have chosen and there are no two ways of it. If they wanted to have a secure life without any discomfort, they could have chosen a job or else any other career instead of public life.
What the MPs have done in the parliament of late is deplorable. They may have received very meagre amount as salary but what about perks they enjoy? Almost each and every service which is being operated in the name of Government is enjoyed free of cost by these elected representatives. Electricity, Telephone, Rail Travel, Bus travel, Flight travel, Gas and many more are being enjoyed by these MPs and they want more.

Wonder what is called EQUALITY in India.
The MPs have arm-twisted the Indian Government to increase the pay for a three fold rise. Still unsatisfied by the raise they have got another 10,000 raise in the name of allowances just yesterday. Phew! Everything in the name of protecting the democracy.
