A HEADLESS CONTROVERSY

Trust Ram Gopal Varma to ruffle few feathers with his wit and mindless acts. If not then how would one describe his latest act of deliberately showing a tonsuring scene from his upcoming movie, ‘Rakta Charitra”?
Everyone in the state of AP, who follows politics and films religiously, knows about a rumor that Late Paritala Ravi allegedly got actor Pawan Kalyan’s head tonsured for making some damaging remarks. Though the alleged incident was never confirmed, the mere mention of it in print made a stir in the year 2003 when Pawan Kalyan took up a walk in the busy Secunderabad area in protest against the Deccan Chronicle management.

Everyone knows that Rakta Charitra is a take on the lives of Paritala Ravi and Maddalacheruvu Suri and their legendary rivalry. Now with RGV publicising a picture of a man being tonsured at gunpoint suggests that the person whom RGV is targetting is Pawan Kalyan. It is also rumored in the Tollywood that the Chiranjeevi family and RGV do not share good terms and if that is the case then it should be totally insensitive on part of RGV to win some brownie points with this shameless propoganda of his.
We never know, until the movie releases, about the context of the scene in which the tonsuring takes place, but RGV covers himself with shame by showing these pictures earlier than the release of the film. All for the sake of some cheap publicity and an eye for controversy.

“I did not beg you to come and watch my movie”… “If you like it that's your luck”… These are RGV's own words…

And more over he has got right to express his views in a democratic country like India. Whether the expression is good or bad the majority of public will tell when the movie releases.

If the incident is only rumored then why worry… “Gummadikaya donga evaru ante bhujalu thadumukunnatlu”… When PK is not worried then why everyone should worry abt it.

All that a movie needs is interesting publicity stunt and hope this gets extra views…

Agree that you'll be curious to watch this scene.

  3. That Rakta Charitra is making waves is known to everyone and the current still is hitting below the belt…That is uncalled for…Still all for the cause of an extra ticket at the counter
