A high voltage drama

A high-voltage drama is about to hit the state of Andhra Pradesh today. No, it is not any Tollywood action drama being released but Kadapa MP, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s proposed tour of Warangal amidst protests by Telangana Rashtra Samithi. YS Jagan, the son of Late YS Rajashekar Reddy is on a state wide tour, named “Odarpu Yatra,” of Andhra Pradesh condoling those families who have lost their family members in the shock news of YSR’s death.

Though YS Jagan claims that his tour is not a political one but purely a personal one, TRS does not want him in Warangal which is said to be the hotbed of Telangana movement. It says that Jagan is indulging in politics by these condolence visits. The TRS chief KCR believes that Jagan might wean away the movement of Telangana with his visit and thereby win brownie points to bring out a case for United Andhra Pradesh.

The entire state is on a knife’s edge today as the tour program has received lots of threats. The TRS is ensuring that it mobilises enough of its cadre to block Jagan’s visit and the young leader is making every effort with the help of his friends like MLA Konda Surekha that his tour progresses without any hitch. The Government is on tenterhooks when some live bombs were discovered in the proposed path of Jagan. This drama, whether political or personal has become a focal point of the state and also the Centre, with Sonia instructing the Telangana region’s MPs not to attend the tour.

Well, brace up the seat belts and watch for more action.
