A ‘BITING’ finish to Cricket

Shahid Afridi! The name itself suggests of a maverick batsman who represents the unpredictability of Pakistan. When he is on song, the bowlers dread him and the purists mock him but the crowds love him. He is a master of unpredictability and defies the conventions like no other in the cricket world. Not even Andrew Symonds. Sometimes he appears as a madman of cricket. Or else there is no other way to explain the BALL BITING by the Pakistani player.

It was during the final one-dayer between Pakistan and Australia that Afridi was caught on cameras biting the already dirty cricket ball. He later apologised to the cricketing authorities of his act and was promptly was banned for 2 ODIs. What was heights of justifaction was Afridi suggesting that he was just trying to smell the ball and was not tampering it.

Smell the ball? May be the smell was so good he also wanted to ‘taste’ it. Or else was Afridi wishing to give a mouth ‘biting’ finish to the boring games of Pakistan. Never mind! There ought to be more in store as the maverick is on the verge of becoming the captain of Pakistan cricket in One-Dayers. Do we see more madness on the cricket field?
