The situation of Andhra Pradesh which has been in the boil for the past 25 days has reached a crescendo with the issue of separate state put in doldrums. With hordes of activists marching with slogans in their throats and sticks in their hands, common man of Andhra Pradesh wonders whether all this drama around a separate state is any good for him.
The people of the state have now been divided into two, Pro-Telengana and Anti-Telengana. Even if one advocates the mantra of peace, he branded as Anti-Telengana. The situation created by the politicians by rousing regional sentiments cannot be undone with a few statements of peace by any leader.
With people themselves becoming apostles of hatred and violence, the division is inevitable. But the very division which is going to be violent is not desired. The division of Andhra Pradesh has to be smooth and in a way which does not spread hatred among the people.
India as a country has been witness to the hazards of partition. The aftermath of the bifurcation and the resulting humanitarian crisis is still in the memory of older generation which recounts with horror the acts of partition. I as a peace lover would not like to be a witness to yet another partition filled with the carcasses of dead bodies of Telugu people.
The need of the hour is peace and tranquility. The polticians should learn to stop spreading hatred and holding the state and development to a standing halt. They are damaging their own cause with these acts of hatred.
Stop this mayhem! Let the common man live as he lived earlier, in peace and tranquility.
